V TV Series Cancelled – Over and out

June 20, 2011 | No Comment

On May 13, 2011, ABC confirmed that V was cancelled. The show aired from November 3, 2009 to March 15, 2011. The series finale was aired on March 15th.

V was an American science fiction series aired on television. It told the story of what happens when a technologically advanced alien race came to Earth to declare their need to help mankind.

Joel Gretsch

There were two seasons and 22 episodes of V. Each episode lasted for about 45 minutes.

Joel Gretsch, who was actor in the show, says “it’s unfortunate” and that he is disappointed about the cancellation.
Joel Gretsch played the role of Father Jack Laundry in the show. In a recent interview, Gretsch says he believes there were more good stories to come from the show.

He even went on to say that he saw Scott Rosenbaum, who is the Executive Producer, a few weeks prior to the show was cancelled and Scott revealed that they (the team) were putting forward interesting ideas to the network and the studio.

Joel says if the show lasted for another season, the show would have been great.

On the other hand, he would be surprised if V returns with a one- off movie. He confesses that he doesn’t suppose that V will come back with a one-off special or movie.

He says a lot of actors are moving on to new shows and new acting roles so he doubts that can happen. He liked the idea though, but he says the longer the wait, the least likely it is to happen.

This means actors are busy, so if that should happen (V comes back with a one-off special or movie), directors and producers would have to get a hold of those actors before they get too caught up with doing other shows. Furthermore, some have already moved on.

He didn’t rule out the idea. He said “it’s a great idea, though, isn’t it?”

Actors like Morena Baccarin, Lourdes Benedicto, Morris Chestnut, Joel Gretsch, Logan Huffman, Charles Mesure, Elizabeth Mitchell, Laura Vandervoort and Scott Wolf starred on the show.

The executive producers were Scott Rosenbaum, Yves Simoneau, Scott Peters, and Jace Hall. The Scott Peters Company, HDFilms and Warner Bros. Television produced the series.

The exact reason why the show was cancelled is not known.
